Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi

What can I say about him? I am here to study how he developed himself and rose to the level of greater altitude from a common, platform which was shared by all the leading people who lived in his time and lead this country towards the path of independance, home rule. When he was insulted by a ticket checker in the train to Pretoria in South Africa I think that was the turning point in his life. The seed was ploughed in his mind that was going to be the huge banyan tree in the form of Movement of Freedom. I firmly believe that the instances in life which challange your basic human rights, will lead you further in life and always have a deciding role in your life. When your Self Respect is hurt badly, your ego fights back thinking that this is a war for survival, but actually it is not merely a war for survival but the process through which Mohandas becomes Mahatma, Narendranath becomes Swami Vivekananda. I think that there is a little bit of Narendranath and Mohandas lives in all of us. But something stops us from becoming Swami or Mahatma, we need to find that, and work on that.
